To tell you a little bit about myself, my name is April and I am 29 years old. I have loved and lived around animals for as long as I can remember. Though I love them all I would have to say that dogs have always been my favorite.
Because of my extreme love of animals I chose to breed small dogs in my home. I continued to do so for approx. 6 years as I am at my most content when I am surrounded by my furry companions. I thoroughly enjoyed many parts of breeding such as the litters themselves, watching the puppies grow and seeing their own little individual personalities emerge, and having the opportunity to own and take care of so many wonderful dogs.
I also found breeding difficult because I cared so greatly for them all. I found it extremely stressful trying my very best to ensure that every puppy went to a wonderful home where they would be loved and well cared for. I also found it extremely difficult when it came time to retire and rehome my adults. I felt like I was losing a little piece of myself every time I had to let one go to their new forever home.
So I decided it was time for a change. I went back to school and became an RCW. I loved working with the residents and was very good at the job, but I was very aware that it wasn't what I wanted to be doing something very important was missing, dogs. Though I still had 9 little guys and two big guys of my own (6 to be rehomed when the right family arrives) I missed caring for them when I was working.
It became clear that I needed to find a way to combine my passion and how I make a living. This is when dog sitting dawned on me. I would be able to spend time with all kinds of different dogs of all different sizes, breeds, temperaments and personalities. And I already live in the perfect location, down a quiet side road in the country only 10 minutes from Charlottetown.
We are surrounded by trees, fields and a lovely viewof the river. I have a fenced in area off the front of the house, and a larger fenced in area off the back deck, perfect for small and medium sized dogs. They can have off leash outdoor time as often as they choose. I find my dogs love this freedom, I can let them out knowing they are having fun and are safe while doing so. I have the space to tie large dogs and give them lots of new sights and smells to explore. My long term goal is to fence in the entire back yard for the large dogs to run and play in as soon as I am able.
I believe my past experience and my true love for animals makes me uniquely qualified for this responsibility. If you are going out of town and need to  leave your furry friend behind, it is so important to know you are leaving them in a safe and loving environment with someone you can trust. I am offering you just that. Any pet in my care will stay in my home with me and my dogs. They can have
playmates if they choose, or if they are nervous around other dogs they can be given their own space to make them as comfortable as
possible.

If your dog is here with me you are more then welcome to checkin as often as you feel necessary to get an update on how they are doing. I will do what I can to make this situation as stress free as possible.
